Can We Stop Saying Germany is Always Better?

I think I’m going to start a campaign to stop saying that German breeders are soooo much better than North American breeders. Here are some thoughts I just wrote, that came up as I was writing on a related topic for an article. I hope it jump-starts a conversation. What do you think? Is it time? more

Successful Stallions in the Young Horse Championships Day 2

We'd like to highlight the stallions in the ribbons in Friday's classes in the Markel/USEF Young & Developing Horse National Championships at the Lamplight Equestrian Center. We'd like to send special congratulations to Hilltop Farm and also to Patricia Becker and Dr. Anne Ramsay. Hilltop's well-known stallion Qredit (Quarterback-Dream Rubina, Dream of Glory) was ridden by Michael Bragdell, and Patty Becker rode Dr. Ramsay's home-bred Oldenburg stallion Freedom (Feuri-Windjammer, Walk on Top). Regardez is a beautiful Hanoverian stallion imported from Germany in 2002. After starting his competition career in dressage, Regardez transitioned to the hunter derby ring as a champion. He has a fantastic hunter derby record, always earning high performance bonus points with a high score of 110 points. Regardez was the most successful derby horse in Canada in 2011 as the Prince of Thieves Award winner presented at the Royal Winter Fair.

Regardez produces beautiful offspring that are bold with scope and athleticism. Proven to be a versatile stallion, Regardez has successful offspring in dressage, hunter, jumper and three day eventing. Regardez’s son, Double Rivers Really Cool, ridden by Kadi Eykamp, won the 2011 Intermediate American Eventing Championship as the youngest horse in the competition.

His sire, the Elite Hanoverian Stallion Regazzoni, was Reserve Champion Young Riding Horse of Germany in 1995 and now has 13 licensed sons. On the dam’s side is the Fruehling line, responsible for producing the Olympic dressage horses Rembrandt, Ahlerich and Amon, and show jumpers such as Polydor, Money Talks, Sonora la Silla, Positano and Poor Boy.
