Can We Stop Saying Germany is Always Better?

I think I’m going to start a campaign to stop saying that German breeders are soooo much better than North American breeders. Here are some thoughts I just wrote, that came up as I was writing on a related topic for an article. I hope it jump-starts a conversation. What do you think? Is it time? more

Article: Interview with Hanoverian breeder Axel Windeler

Axel Windeler, breeder of the 5-year-old champion of the World Young Dressage Horse championships in Ermelo this year, Don Martillo, says he started out by making the exact same mistake many American breeders made when starting out with sport horse breeding: “I started breeding in 1977. I bought a riding horse, but she was not good, so I tried to breed…” more

Successful Stallions in the Young Horse Championships Day 2

We'd like to highlight the stallions in the ribbons in Friday's classes in the Markel/USEF Young & Developing Horse National Championships at the Lamplight Equestrian Center. We'd like to send special congratulations to Hilltop Farm and also to Patricia Becker and Dr. Anne Ramsay. Hilltop's well-known stallion Qredit (Quarterback-Dream Rubina, Dream of Glory) was ridden by Michael Bragdell, and Patty Becker rode Dr. Ramsay's home-bred Oldenburg stallion Freedom (Feuri-Windjammer, Walk on Top). The two shared second place in the Intermediate II test. For full results, including more stallions and more NA-breds, more

Introducing our New 3-Way Stallion Promotion Network

Warmblood Stallions of North America is introducing a whole new approach to stallion promotion. The new online advertising packages combine a variety of ad options across three online platforms. Called “forward-thinking” by one stallion owner, this innovative idea will become fully realized with the launch of the new in September, and WSNA is now accepting pre-launch purchases, so businesses can fully benefit from the launch promotions. Cost-effective packages are available for single stallions, farms with multiple stallions, and businesses with no stallion. more

Modern, Athletic Trakehner Eventing/Dressage Stallion
Performance matters. Tatendrang *Pb* is competing at the FEI CCI** level with Andrew Palmer in Eventing. He is typically in the top half of any competition after dressage where he frequently earns 8’s and 9’s for his gaits. Due to his performance career, “Tate” is fully licensed/approved with the American Trakehner Association, Trakehner Verband, ISR/OLD NA, as well as Stud Book sBs Belgian Sport Horse.

Winner of the ATA’s 2013 Cäsar Memorial Cup, for the ATA approved Trakehner stallion with the year’s highest score in Eventing, Tate started 2014 off convincingly, by winning the Red Hills International CIC*, leading from the first and finishing on his dressage score of 36.2, the best dressage score of all divisions. He moved on to take 3rd place in his first CIC** at Chattahoochee Hills and completed his first CCI** on the grueling Bromont course in Canada, where he was 5th after dressage in a field of 24. In the autumn, rider and horse were declared to be “brilliant” by George Morris in a clinic shortly before they completed the Fair Hill CCI** that opened with 114 competitors at that level and, with a dressage score of 31.90, he wrapped up the year in the Open Intermediate division at the Poplar Place Horse Trials in November, winning it by 16 pts! 2015 was a year to focus on training, breedings, and approvals; however, he did come in 2nd in his only outing at Chatt Hills in July with a convincing double clear cross country.

Tate passes on not only his appearance, spectacular movement and remarkably kind temperament, but his drive to succeed. His oldest offspring turned 5 in 2015 and all have been remarkably easy to start under saddle and show Tate’s own fantastic work ethic. Tate is homozygous bay/black. His offspring are competing successfully in hunters, dressage, and of course eventing and are becoming sought after by several upper level riders.
