Gaudi SSF

The most popular dressage stallion in North America!
Gaudi is the first and only Totilas offspring standing in the USA. Imported in January 2018 by Shooting Star Farm, his dam is the elite preferent prestatie mare Annabel, by De Niro. Bred by the Jansen family at Stable Joppe in The Netherlands, Gaudi has an exceptional pedigree. His dam also produced the KWPN licensed stallions Bretton Woods and Chagall D&R, and from this same dam line come the licensed stallions Four Legends KS and the recent Stallion Show Champion, LeFormidable. Annabel leads the KWPN index for dressage mares. She has produced top sport to Grand Prix and top keuring horses, including multiple daughters invited to the National Mare Show.

Gaudi was presented at the 2014 KWPN Stallion Licensing and was accepted for the Stallion Performance testing, but due to a sport career ending neck injury in training, he could not participate. He is fully approved with the AES studbook due to the quality of his offspring in The Netherlands.

Our primary interest in Gaudi is for our own breeding program and we have known Gaudi since he was foaled. He has a fantastic pedigree and mare line. His pedigree offers us, and other breeders, a stallion free of Jazz, Flemmingh and Ferro.

In addition to his impressive pedigree, he has a fantastic character and lots of power and expression in his movement.

American breeders are able to register their Gaudi foals out of KWPN mares and mares from other recognized studbooks with the KWPN society and get Register A papers. We are thrilled to be able to offer Gaudi to North America with fresh cooled and frozen semen. In order to provide the most information possible for our breeders, we have tested Gaudi for the Warmblood Fragile Foal Syndrome (WFFS) and found that he is homozygous negative – not a carrier – of the WFFS mutation.

Gaudi has an impressive first few North American foal crops. He has limited keuring results due to the last two years' keurings being cancelled, but, from his first North American crop, he sired twice as many first premium dressage foals as any other stallion, including 3 keuring site champion dressage foals. Outrageous SSF (Gaudi x Gazania by Bon Bravour) received a score of 82 for conformation and 80 for movement, placing him in the top 5 dressage foals in North America. In this year's KWPN-NA virtual keuring, Gaudi sired twice as many top five placing foals and yearlings as any other stallion.

In the breed show world, 2021 has proved to be another exceptional year for Gaudi offspring, winning him the first place USEF Dressage Breeding sire title, with over three times the points of the second place stallion.

Of his eight offspring in The Netherlands, he has sired two elite mares, one finishing in the top ten of the National Mare Show.
